What are apps?

Applications (or apps for short) are small computer programmes that run on your device that enhance what it can do. Your phone is operated by Android operating systems which is powered by Google, enabling you to use all Google's service with ease.

To download Android apps you'll need a Gmail account.
Shop instantly on your smartphone or browse on your personal computer then have purchases sent to your device, just make sure you're signed in with the same account.

How much are they?

Android apps range from free to around £30 and once downloaded they're permanently stored on your phone.
Remember: it's always a good idea to back up all precious things like apps on a personal computer.

To find an app:
- Choose from Apps, Games or Sony - scroll through the list
- Or search by selecting the magnifying glass, enter details of the type of app you're looking for, then press magnifying glass icon
- When you've found an app you like, select it to read its description and any user reviews
- To download or purchase the app, select free (for free apps) or the price button under Buy (for paid apps)
