How to fix SIM card problems

Your SIM card is the small, flat piece of plastic that connects your BlackBerry to your network. It's removable, and slides into a plastic holder underneath your battery.

Your BlackBerry may display a SIM card error message if:

  • The SIM card is out of place. If you've recently dropped, bumped, or opened your BlackBerry the SIM card may need adjusting. Follow the SIM card installation instructions in your user guide, you'll find this in our Support Documents section.
  • Your PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code has been entered incorrectly too many times. See our PIN and PUK page for more information.
  • You've recently changed networks. Your SIM card or BlackBerry may be configured to your previous network and will need to be reconfigured. Please contact your current network for help.

Your SIM card is provided by your network - please contact them for more help with SIM card issues.
