How do the payments work?

You make two direct debit payments each month – one for your broadband and one for your laptop. These may come out on different dates.

  • If you sign up to the Lifeline insurance policy with Geek Squad cover, you'll have three direct debit payments.
  • If you get a laptop with a better spec, you will also make a one-off payment in the store for the laptop.
  • TalkTalk manages your broadband contract, so if you have any questions about your broadband payments, visit TalkTalk's help pages or phone them on 0370 444 1820^.


Can I change my direct debit date?

No. We're sorry but you can't change the date your direct debit comes out each month.


Do I get a paper bill each month?

No. But we'll send you a statement each year for your laptop credit agreement that shows what your balance is.


Can I see my laptop billing information on my Carphone Warehouse online billing account?

Unfortunately this is not available.


Why am I charged twice each month? Or three times?

You’re charged once for your laptop and once for your broadband. Your direct debits may come out on separate days, in which case you’ll see two payments coming out of your account each month. One thing to note, however, is that both payments will say ‘Carphone Warehouse’. Also, if you have Lifeline insurance, your insurance direct debit payment may also come out on a separate day and it too will say ‘Carphone Warehouse’.


Can I skip a payment?

No.


Can I pay off my laptop early?

Yes, just call us on 0370 111 6565^. Your consumer credit agreement will end when you’ve paid off the entire balance for the laptop. And, of course, you get to keep the laptop.


What if I cancel my direct debit?

Then you’ll have to call us each month to pay. You’ll also be charged a £3.50 surcharge for not paying by direct debit.


What if my direct debit bounces?

Please call us right away to make a payment. You’ll have to pay a £5 surcharge.


If I return my laptop and cancel my laptop consumer credit agreement, do I still have to pay for broadband?

Yes. Your broadband contract is separate to your laptop consumer credit agreement. If you want to cancel your broadband, you must contact TalkTalk on 0870 444 1820^.
