Changes to Freephone and premium rate calls

Changes to Freephone numbers

From 1st July 2015, calls to phone numbers starting 0800, 0808 and 116 will be free from your mobile, no matter which network you're with.

Changes to premium rate numbers

Charges for calls to premium rate phone numbers starting 084, 087, 118 or 09 will also change on 1st July 2015.You may use these numbers to contact certain companies such as banks, these numbers are also known as 'service numbers'.

The cost of these calls will now be split into two parts; an Access Charge and a Service Charge.

The Access Charge is what your network charges you to make the call, while the Service Charge is set by the company you're calling.

Implications of this change

You will not be charged any more than usual, this change simply makes it clearer about the different elements to service charges. Therefore your billing and charges will be much easier to understand.

Access charges by network

EE - 44p per minute
Virgin - 36p per minute
iD - 30p per minute
O2 - 25p per minute
Vodafone - 23p per minute
